My Students

I teach at an Elementary school whose community is small but lots of kids in Glendive , Montana. Our 2nd grade team has students who have a variety of academic needs. As an educator, I use DonorsChoose.org to find ways to reach every single student's academic, social, and emotional needs to help them grow.

My Project

These seating options will help my students who struggle to learn while sitting down due to their energy, to be able to move while sitting, listening, and learning all types of information. Working with 2nd graders (7 and 8 years old), I have learned it is important to use gonoodle and other movement activities in your lessons to help them to be able to engage in what you are teaching when moving isn't taking place in the lesson. The flex seating I have requested will help engage some of my SPED students and extremely active students and they will feel successful. When doing projects on the floor like small groups, some of the students can use them to focus their attention.
