My Students

My students have a hard life and worry about things that they shouldn't at their age. Our school has 99% of students who receive free breakfast and lunch, some of which they keep to eat at home. Many of the students live in the projects right across the street from our school. Most only have a one parent house hold. I try to do the most I can for my kiddos, but its hard to do on a teachers salary. I love my kids because even though they go through so much, they have the biggest hearts.

My Project

Not every student focuses the same way. I have many students who are basically on top of their seat because "its more comfy that way". I think the flex bands on the students seats will help them focus if they can constantly move their feet. The wobble chairs seem to work in other classroom at my school and I could see them benefiting some of my more hyper active students. Students at my school get one recess that lasts maybe 20 minutes if they eat their lunch fast. When they come back to me, many haven't burnt out their energy yet. I think both of these flexible seating options will help them stay on task and be able to move.
