The students in my classroom are Adventurers in Training. Everyday, we "set sail" to various parts of the world and experience new and exciting things through the literature we read. But before my students are able to become independent adventurers, they need the phonics background and skills they are learning in class.
My students are creative, clever, and always eager to try new things!
Students step into my classroom and are transported to a safe and fun learning environment. They are not afraid to explore new and exciting possibilities and understand that it is okay to be wrong. My students build each other up and encourage each other constantly to be the best they can be. My students are going places, and my hope is to provide these students with the tools they need to help them get there.
Flexible seating in my classroom with offer my students a new and exciting learning environment. Students have the option when they arrive to choose the seat that is going to help them learn the best for the day. My students already have a choice between two wobble chairs, stability cushions, stools, and balance ball chairs. With 27 students, however, not every student gets to choose and some are left with desks because that is all that is left.
Flexible seating allows my students to be engaged and active in their learning, while still being able to wiggle and get comfortable!
By funding this project, my students will have more choices for seating and allow them to be more actively engaged in the learning taking place in the classroom!
