Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I love the fact that I get to teach amazing students day after day. My school provides a safe, comfortable learning environment for a diverse group of students who are from a primarily under-served population of middle school students.
My school is a Title I public school that is working extremely hard to increase student achievement, to offer students the opportunity to receive a high quality education, and to give them a better chance at life through the gift of education.
My student population includes general education students, students with special needs, and students whose first language is not English. This makes my job as a teacher that much more challenging, yet at the same time, that much more rewarding and important.
My Project
Our students are so hardworking! When they have their breaks from academics they deserve to be able to be active and freely move around the classroom!
These items will allow my middle grade students to be more actively involved in their learning!
I try to incorporate brain breaks , but sometimes it is nearly impossible. Having something quiet that students can turn to and get their energy out would be great.
Often times the students don't have access to play these sports outside of the school with each other! If this project gets funded, these kids will have the opportunity to build self-regulation skills.
