This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work in a school that has a high poverty level and a high level of English Learners. Although they come to school lacking many experiences, they are eager to learn. These students need to go beyond the typical textbook and need to experience what they are learning!

Many of my students have a hard time sitting all day and need flexible seating to allow movement throughout the day.

Giving them options they can have to learn differently can motivate them to focus better.

My Project

Many of my students need motivation to help them stay focused throughout the day. These lap desks would allow them to sit on the floor to work. This would give them another option, besides their desks that are not very comfortable.

By having flexible seating that kids can earn to use, it will motivate them to stay more focused on lessons being taught.

Giving students the ability to sit, stand and move during the day can help them to navigate a long, academic school day. I want all of my students to be successful, and flexible seating will allow them to have choice in how they learn!
