This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with such an amazing young group of scholars! My students are so eager to learn and strive to do their best every day. Although we are a Title I school, our students work hard to overcome the challenges they seem to face due to their language barriers and environment.

They absolutely LOVE hands-on activities to demonstrate their thinking and enjoy being able to move around the room and sit comfortably while working.

We do our best at our school to provide them with all the materials necessary to be their best; however, providing them with flexible seating is not an option.

My Project

Flexible seating has been amazing! I started flexible seating this year with hopes that it would provide my students with independence and opportunities to learn in an environment they were comfortable in and they have really Loved it! I started with basic seating because it can be a bit costly, so I made my own crate seats, and bought basic stools and cushions. The students love the ability to pick their seat daily and learn in a spot that works best for them. I would love to provide my students with more options and give my "wiggle worms" better choices. The wobble stools and cushions will work wonders!
