Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are beyond inspiring! My district is made up of students from all different backgrounds. Many come from low income, and rely on school for many needs. They encourage me, teach me new things everyday, and remind me of the value of friendships!

My Project

My classroom is currently without a kidney bean table. Kidney bean table will allow me to meet with my students on an individual and small group basis. A kidney bean table will also give my students a space to build a community with their peers during partner work. It will also be a space for students to go when they can’t focus at their desk. Flex seating is a new concept for many classes, and has already shown to empower my students in their learning. My goal is to create enough seating for all of my students.
