Mr. LaPierre from Irvington NJ is requesting flexible seating through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need flexible seating where they can feel relaxed and focused and still engaged in learning activities. These seating areas provide new areas for students to feel comfortable and safe while maintaining their focus.

I work in Irvington, NJ which is an urban area. My students are young children ranging from seven to ten years of age. I have been having some issues with children who are not focused and need more stimuli while sitting in their seats.
In our school we try to accommodate students in the least restrictive learning environment.
In order to accomplish this goal our general education classrooms need additional resources to assist our students. I am asking for student friendly furniture that will assist students in the learning process.
The materials I am asking for will help to create a more inclusive learning environment for my students. Currently, we have standard chairs and older bean bags with holes that I have been trying to maintain and patch. However, the students deserve better.
Flexible seating provides an atmosphere where students can maximize comfort while actively engaged in student learning.
I am asking for 3 different types of seating. The wobble chairs will allow students flexibility while engaged in learning. The lap top desks and bean bag chairs provide additional areas around the room where students feel relaxed, comfortable and ready to learn. Students will be provided with flexible learning areas around the classroom. Currently, our public schools do not have funding to make this possible for our learners. With your help, we can make a difference and we will make a difference one classroom at a time. Thank you to everyone who reads this project and helps to create more opportunities for my students!
