I teach about 130 students everyday. I have four classes with about 32 students in each class.
My students come from all walks of life and bring with them a variety of learning styles and learning needs.
My students enjoy learning U.S. history. Some of them ask very insightful questions that leave me astonished at how their mind works. I try my best answer their question or give them the tools to find the answer themselves. I encourage them to dig deeper and go beyond what we discuss in class.
My Project
My classroom will be evolving into a flexible, personalized learning space. I wish to provide my students places to sit that are more comfortable and that will allow them to explore how they learn best. I can envision my students sitting in different areas in my classroom collaborating with each other and enjoying learning in their own way.
Allowing them to choose a seat that helps them learn best has shown to improve grades, work ethic and creative thought.
Students will have more autonomy over how they learn and where they sit. Having a comfortable seat will help to motivate students to focus, complete assignments and be engaged in the lesson. The items I have chosen will satisfy both those who want to sit at a table and those who wish to sit lower to the floor.
I am extremely excited to make this change in my classroom and help my students gain a lifelong love of learning.
