Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My class has some exceptional students! Even though we are a very low-income school, that does not stop my kiddos! They are extremely hard workers and all need something a little bit different to be successful.
As adults we all have that certain seat or spot in our home we do our best work, this is true for our students as well.
Many students are not successful sitting in a traditional table and chair. They need to find the right spot for them. This might be a bouncy chair, a wiggle seat, or a spot on the floor.
My Project
The bouncing seats, wiggle seats, wobbly stools, and kick bands will benefit my students who have trouble sitting still. These items will allow them to move around while working without becoming a distraction to other students.
My students are very young and for many of them this is their first time being asked to sit still and work, flexible seating will provide my students with something different than a standard table and chair.
Due to their age and experience in a classroom many of my students have attention problems. Being able to move and change seating has been proven to eliminate behavior issues and allow them to focus on their education.
All children learn differently and it's my job to create successful, confident learners in my classroom. I would love for my students to be able to choose the best learning environment for them and flexible seating options will help them do just that.
Flexible seating options can ensure that each student is working comfortably in the the best setting possible for them to be successful. We are looking to get bouncy seats and balls, wiggle stools, seats, and activity trays.
