Teaching kindergarten is so exciting. I have the wonderful opportunity to reach 20 little lives every single day and it is my goal to provide them with the best learning experience possible.
Our school is a Title I school in a high need community where most of our students come from a variety of homes and educational backgrounds.
Despite our needs, I hold high expectations for all of my students. Some of my students have never attended preschool; and kindergarten will be the first school experience they have. That means my job is super important and that it is up to me to provide my students with the best learning opportunities possible.
My goal is for each child in my classroom to love learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best may vary greatly. I would like to incorporate alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are! I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!
My Project
By having alternative seating in the classroom students are free to make a choice of which seating arrangement is best for their learning. By giving them a choice I am helping them begin to learn how to make appropriate choices to make them more successful in the classroom. This will also help reduce the number of behavior problems than can happen in a classroom. The flexible seating such as the bean bags and stools that I am requesting will help the students feel safe, comfortable, and better able to focus. Please consider giving to these Kindergarteners because they deserve it!
