We are a bright and energetic class of First Graders from Johnson City, Tennessee. We are crazy for any type of technology, hands on activities, and high interest learning. We are a title 1 school with over half of our class receiving free and reduced lunch.
We don't sweat the small stuff!
We love to learn and help each other. We love volunteers. We are lucky enough to have a special grandmother who comes each week to help us learn.
My Project
I currently lowered all the classroom tables to allow my students to sit on the floor. Flexible seating provides an alternative to the "regular desk and chair". Runtz balls( yoga balls) and low sitting chairs will allow easy access to the tables in a comfortable way.
My students are able to choose where to sit in the classroom based on how they feel they learn best.
Flexible seating has transformed my classroom. Students feel comfortable and are engaged in a relaxing environment. I give directions throughout the day so allowing students to choose their seating makes a big difference to a child.
