Flexible Seating and Work Surfaces for Middle School Mathematicians!
Help me give my students various seating options, like wobble stools, and floor desks. As well as whiteboards, markers, and erasers to work out math problems on. Finally, sturdy clipboards, reliable headphones, and dividers for organization.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The 2019-2020 school year will be my second year teaching middle grades math. I will be working with about eighty wonderful 6th graders who are ready to learn! I would like to incorporate flexible seating into my classroom this year, so students can comfortably access various learning spaces. I know that moving about can help the brain function. Mathematics can be fun and enriching with the right attitude and access to various manipulatives and supplies as well. I want my students to be successful mathematicians who believe in their abilities, and can work in a space that allows them to be successful.
The students I teach are from all over the Charlotte area, most of whom come from low income households.
My students have so much potential. In order to foster their learning, my classroom is in need of many resources to create an exciting and inviting place to learn math!
My Project
These materials will allow my students to have various flexible seating options like wobble stools and desks with fidget bands. It will allow students to find a space to learn that suits them best.
These materials will also allow students to use various surfaces to work including whiteboards, clipboards, dry-erase table circles, and floor desks.
Students will also receive markers, and erasers to use on these work surfaces.
Students will be able to access quality headphones when learning virtually, and will have access to binder dividers to keep their work organized. This will help students become responsible, and successful learners.
