I teach an amazing group of kindergarten-fifth grade English Language Learners who come to school eager to learn every day. They come from a variety of cultures, diverse backgrounds and have unique learning needs. They are each special in their own way! It is my goal to engage students in their learning and to make learning fun every day.
English Language Learners at my school are inquisitive, compassionate, and bring such amazing diversity to our school culture.
My students come to school respecting and embracing education and they quickly become fluent in English. My students rise to the challenge of learning a second language on a daily basis.
My Project
Students who are learning to speak English have many unique needs. My students benefit from a variety of seating options to accomodate their learning style.
ELs also need to see things visually to internalize their own learning.
They can use the flexible seating and dry erase table to work collaboratively with their English speaking peers.
When working on literacy skills such as decoding words or learning new vocabulary my students will work to visualize their new learning by drawing on the markerboard table. Flexible seating will give my students the independence to choose a seating type that will help them learn.
