Flexible Seating: A Student Centered Learning Environment
Help me give my students floor seats, floor desks, and high stools to meet their various learning styles to promote a student centered learning environment.
My students come from a variety of backgrounds, have an array of passions and interests, and have a wide range of different learning styles. They love project and discovery based learning where they have to work together to discover and determine outcomes for different activities.
They truly are the best part of my job and they deserve every opportunity to be successful within my classroom and beyond.
My students love being a part of a learning environment that is not the traditional classroom. I promote a personalized learning environment within my classroom that also includes STEM centered activities. They do an excellent job of working together and individually to convey their highest form of success.
My Project
This project is to create a comfortable learning environment within my classroom. I would love my classroom to be student centered to promote personalized learning. My goal is to provide as many seating options as I can to my students to create the best possible learning environment for every student.
I would love these flexible seating options to give my students the best opportunity to learn in an environment that meets their individual needs.
I already have two tall round tables that I would put the high stools at for students to sit at and work. I would like to use the floor seats and desks in the corner of the room to be an additional option for flexible seating throughout the course of each class period. My ultimate goal is providing the students with options throughout each class to keep them fully engaged during each classroom session.
