I teach all subjects to 22 amazing third graders & I learn from them each day. My students are special because they are future leaders. It's my job to make sure that I do everything in my power to encourage the best learning environment possible for my students. All of my students come from different backgrounds and have a different story. I want them to understand and know that no life circumstance can prevent them from achieving their dreams. I encourage my students to view themselves as future world changers. I also remind them that in order to change the world, they don't need to be an adult...they can do so as a child!
My Project
Last year for the first time in my teaching career, I decided to adapt the flexible seating model in my classroom. I still remember the unsure looks I got from parents on meet the teacher night. Honestly, I wasn't too sure myself! I can say that I absolutely loved implementing this in my classroom. My kids worked so well & loved the fact that I let them choose their own seats. An additional bonus was that I had more space in my classroom than ever before even though I had 28 seat options! After observing for a year, I did want to make some minor adjustments to ensure that my flexible seating is most effective. I'd love for you to partner with me to help me create the best learning environment for my future world changers. I'd like a floor table that will adjust to a kids height & have 4 camper chairs to go with it. I currently have two camper chairs and need to purchase two more. I've tried adjusting standard tables and either the legs won't come off or it's still too high for kids to sit. I'd also like to invest in studier bean bag chairs that will last a little longer. I'd be ever so grateful for any support you can contribute!
