My Students

I teach in a low income/high poverty school district. I teach children that have gone through many obstacles in and out of the classroom. Recently we have been impacted by our second hurricane in 2 years. Most of my students' families live paycheck to paycheck, and cannot buy the extras that are needed to help benefit their education. I feel it is my job to give them every opportunity that is afforded to them to enable them to reach their educational goals.

My students inspire me everyday.

No matter what life has thrown at them, they still manage to wake themselves up in the morning and come to school ready to learn.

My Project

This project will allow my students to have a comfortable place to sit during their center work. The chairs will allow them to sit on the floor more comfortably and in a cleaner environment. They will be able to work in partners or in a small groups to help each other master the third grade standards. This is definitely a need in our classroom because the children need a comfortable space to work. They will enjoy this flexible seating arrangement and will allow them to sit in a non traditional setting. The students will also enjoy a new look to our classroom.
