Our classroom is always full of eager and enthusiastic second graders. They love to learn and explore new things and are full of joy for learning. They come in young learners and by the end of the year they have grown into strong readers and writers as well as independent but yet cooperative learners and workers. The transformation is a privilege to experience as their teacher and there is no better reward!
There is a wide variety of economic and cultural backgrounds and we become a classroom community devoted to caring for each other and learning to each one's potential.
We learn to work together and learn from each other.
My students need a variety of seating options to meet different learning styles. Children have different preferences. Some may prefer the traditional desk and chair; however that isn't ideal for all learners. Students need comfortable options, but they also need choice. Our classroom environments should create collaboration, creativity and critical thinking. The ideal classroom environment will help create learners who are relaxed and engaged in their work and relaxed. Flexible seating will allow for students to move and be relaxed was they work. This project is aimed for chairs for in our classroom. This is one area in the room that allows for choice and collaboration. These seating options are just one way learners can get up and out of a traditional classroom chair and in collaborative group with peers. They can come into school each day and choose a new way to work; it will help keep them motivated and engaged!
