My Students
As a teacher in a low-income, high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things fun and engage my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences that will encourage them to learn. My Kindergarten class is all inclusive. We have students from every walk of life!
They are excited to explore the world around them and to learn about life!
These items will help my school by providing resources that will help all my students get excited about learning.
My Project
Imagine sitting in a meeting all day, listening to speakers, collaborating with colleagues, and attempting to learn new information… now imagine not being able to move freely or go outside for more than 20 minutes. Unfortunately, many adults sit through meetings like this on a daily basis, we all know how taxing these meetings can be on our brains and bodies. So WHY are we making our children do these same things each day? Now imagine a meeting where you can move freely about your work space, sit in various comfortable seating options, and have the ability to CHOOSE what type of seating works best to maximize learning! Finding the right work space can increase your “production” greatly! THIS IS WHAT STUDENTS NEED EVERY DAY!
Flexible seating allows students to choose a seat they feel will help them maximize their learning potential!
Flexible seating options include stability balls, wobble stools, scoop chairs, standing desk options, and so much more! With recess times decreasing and classroom time increasing, this is a GREAT way to help students engage both their bodies and minds.
Please help me transform my classroom into a flexible seating workspace! It is my hope that allowing students to choose a seat based on individual needs will give them the opportunity to move more and increase learning outcomes exponentially!
