I teach 2nd grade in Seguin, Texas and could not imagine serving any other community or working with any other kids. We have the best and I am blessed to be able to give back to the town I grew up in. Yes, we are all individuals. We are all different. I have students from all walks of life, some more difficult than others but they are all strong, hard working, and eager to learn!
My classroom is full of diverse learners ranging in levels with diverse needs.
I appreciate the uniqueness of each tiny human and hope to foster a love of learning!
How can I make this lesson more engaging? Will I have enough room for my students to get in groups or move around for this activity? 22 kids, 22 desks, 22 chairs....why? We all need a more open environment. A classroom where we can move, engage, mingle, explore, and grow!
I want my classroom to be...flexible!
Flexible seating for flexible learning!
With this funding I will eliminate most of the desks and chairs and add in different seating options. Whether that be at a table using a balance ball chair, lounging on the rug with a pillow, or wobbling on a wobble stool. Some may rather stand! If it works for you, why not?
I would love to give my students a choice of what seating option works best for them. With your generous donations I will be able to better meet the needs of my diverse learners!
