My students are creative and thoughtful 10 year olds who are full of energy and excitement. They come from a variety of backgrounds which makes each student unique. My students come to school each day wanting to learn. They are excited and thankful for the opportunity to learn together.
My students get excited to try new things and grow as learners.
I try to incorporate many different seating options and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met.
I strive to create an environment that is warm and welcoming for all my students to give them the greatest chance for success.
My Project
My students enjoy standing, sitting on pillows around the room and sitting at tables with chairs with cushions, rather than in a hard plastic chair all day long. I currently have a few flexible seating options in my classroom, but would love to have a flexible seating space for each child and to hopefully get rid of the traditional desk and chair set up. Students who are more comfortable are more engaged and this leads to mastery of content.

I will replace my traditional desks and chairs with a tall top table and comfortable outdoor table and chairs. Your generous donation will also help provide comfortable floor seats and plush floor cushions to go with my low to the ground table. My goal is to make my classroom feel like a second home for my students. A place they enjoy coming to everyday and feel safe and welcome.
