My students need dry erase clipboards, book boxes and stack stools to increase learner engagement and to meet the many different learning styles in our classroom.
My kindergarten students come to school with a wide array of skills and knowledge as some have attended preschool or daycare and others have stayed home. We are a diverse school with students coming to us from many different backgrounds and experiences.
We pride ourselves on building a strong sense of community and instilling a love of learning in all children.
My students are active learners and curious about the world around them. They love learning in a variety of ways including interacting with technology, creating/experimenting through hands-on learning and engaging in play. Because they come to kindergarten with a broad spectrum of learning experiences and background knowledge, it is important to meet their many diverse needs and learning styles.
My Project
My kindergarten students love learning! By providing them access to a variety of seating options and materials, they will be able to gain both independence and ownership in their choices. In our classroom, we are constantly moving, and often our learning is spread out throughout the room at tables and on the floor as students engage in small group and partner work.
Flexible seating choices, book boxes and dry erase clipboards will allow my students to be more collaborative and student-centered in our classroom space as they move around freely during their learning.
Flexible seating and learning can be utilized throughout the day, but it will specifically be offered during literacy and math centers, choice time, independent reading and small group project work. This will provide individualized opportunities for students to choose how they want to learn new material and increase both engagement and achievement by providing them ownership in their learning.
