My students need a variety of flexible seating to help with focus. Wiggle seats, exercise balls and a wobble stool will give them the opportunity to move while focusing on learning.
I have a very diverse group of third graders. Students come from all backgrounds and have a variety of abilities. The school where I teach is situated in a socioeconomically challenged area, and 100% of the students receive free lunch.
This group of third graders is very energetic.
They have a vast array of interests and ideas that they are eager to share with their classmates. They are a creative, vocal and exuberant bunch of students.
In third grade, we are working very hard on respectful, responsible and kind behavior. Everything we do revolves around building character, community and a positive environment for learning.
My Project
Flexible seating is a great way to provide students with choice and an opportunity to create an ideal working environment for themselves. The students are hard at work for the majority of the day and need more opportunities to release energy and stress. For students with ADD, being able to move while learning can make all the difference.
Choosing the best seat for focus will allow students to pay better attention during lessons and retain more of what they are learning.
Wobble chairs, chair balls and wobble cushions give the students seating that allows them to move, which is exactly what they need to succeed!
