Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This is my third year as a teacher and I have accepted a new position as the Talented and Gifted teacher for next year! With a new teaching role comes new expectations and new supplies that I will need to serve my kids. I want to provide them a flexible learning space where we are able to dig deep and focus on new challenging projects. My focus is to create a welcoming environment that fits all of my K-5 student. With a variety of ages using the space it is important to have versatile and inviting furniture and organization. This project will help me create an extraordinary classroom for very deserving students. Much of my paycheck is poured straight into improving my classroom and this donation would help us out immensely!
My Project
Flexible seating is more than a trend it is a shift in how we use our classroom environment. This year our school received donations to create flexible seating options in our general education classrooms. I have seen a huge difference in the way students utilize the space we have in our room throughout the day. Flexible seating allows all learners to make the space their own while they work on their studies throughout many tasks. I have accepted a new position as the Talented and Gifted teacher next year for our campus which is a very exciting opportunity for me. With this new change comes the chance to start over and try some new flexible seating arrangements. All of my current furniture will be staying in the second grade classroom so any assistance in creating our new learning space would be greatly appreciated!
