My Students

First grade is such an exciting stage of rapid development. Students are expected to grow a significant amount of levels in both reading and math, and my kiddos are up for the challenge! They are silly, creative and compassionate.

My students face many obstacles on their path to success, but I am dedicated to ensuring their access to resources and supplies isn't ever one of them!

My students bond into a classroom family, building each other up and always pushing each other to do their very bests. They are wiggly learners, and love to learn by getting their hands messy with content!

My Project

These two wobble seats will be an introduction into flexible seating in our first grade classroom. Having a choice in where they sit can give students agency and ownership of their own learning. I believe that my job is to facilitate learning and to guide students to make the best choices for them. Our classroom has traditional chairs and floor pillows already, and these wobble seats would add diversity in choice for students to see where they learn best. Providing students with choice of where they learn can motivate them to advocate for themselves throughout their first grade school year.
