We are a Title I school in a low-income area of Illinois. Many of these students face daily challenges and school is a place of stability and warmth. These are the BEST students! They are full of energy, curiosity, creativity, and humor! It is truly a joy and honor to teach these young, bright minds, which are growing each day! These students love to learn and are continuously developing the skills they need to be successful, and they are successful!
My Project
Flexible seating in my classroom allows choice for my students about the kind of learning space that works best for them. They are able to decide where they work and to change position and location when necessary.
Flexible seating is about providing the learning environment that my kids need in order to be successful.
The Stay and Play Balance Balls will allow my active learners to be engaged and motivated to learn given the choice of where and how they sit to learn. The Wobble Chair encourages students to find the best spot and position that will keep them calm and focused and promotes a student-centered learning environment.
Through flexible seating, my enthusiastic learners are encouraged to work comfortably and collaboratively in a learning atmosphere where they are engaged and committed to learning!
