This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach first grade at a school filled with wonderful students. My school is a Title I school in a low poverty community where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students range from readers to second language learners who know little English.

I want my students to love school and enjoy each and every day.

Being home last year for school was very difficult for some students. They didn't have interaction with friends and it was a challenge to sit and listen to me on a screen. I want them to have choices as to how they learn and what type of seating works for them.

My Project

Sometimes school can be monotonous. Sitting at our desks day after day. Having the same partner day after day. I want to use flexible seating to engage the students. I want them to move around and choose where they would like to sit to increase their focus on learning. Some students need change to help them learn. I want to use flexible seating to provide choices to my students. They enjoy choosing where they sit to help them work better. These flexible seating I am asking for will help them do just that.
