Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students are hard workers, love to participate during discussions and love being at school. Some students have even wished to stay at school all night.
This a wonderful group of students whom are eager to read and write everyday and are always looking for new tools to learn and grow with.
My students have grown up in a growing community. Many of my students have had hard beginnings and our school is the place where they are able to grow, be supported and be provided with everything they need to learn.
My Project
Flexible seating in the classroom helps students to focus on their work. My students are hard workers and get their work done most of the time, but they have difficulty staying focused. This group of students love to communicate with one another during work time and is extremely distracting to other students.
These students will be less disruptive and do more work if they are able to have the choice of where to sit in the classroom.
But, I want there to be various seating choices for the students to select from. Having wobbly stools, exercise ball chairs, and stools are a perfect start to turn our classroom into a flexible seating oasis.
