Help me give my students more flexible seating options with two large-sized floor tables. These are perfectly sized for them. I would also love using these tables to present lessons at their eye levels!
This wonderful group of students absolutely enjoy all of the hands-on materials and flexibility in choosing where they work throughout the classroom. It is an honor to provide a public Montessori education accessible to all. I am happy to serve a very diverse group of students. My students come from various religious, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. All children in my classroom receive free breakfast, lunch, and snack.
Our classroom strives to "follow the child" by providing a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and individual lessons.
Our classroom consists of 9 three-year olds, 9 four-year olds, and 9 kindergarteners. Children have independent work time throughout the day to practice materials they have had lessons on. Sometimes students work at tables and other times they use floor works!
My Project
We are a Montessori classroom that utilizes rugs for floor work and standard desks for table work. Please help us with providing another option: floor tables! We plan on using the tables for independent writing, drawing, snack preparing, and any other task that would require a table.
Many students want to work on the floor but also need a hard surface for their work.
Having two floor tables will help tremendously with this. These tables would also be great during our morning meetings when I am demonstrating new lessons that need to be shown at their eye levels! Please help us make our flexible seating dreams come true.
