Help me give my students better options for flexible seating! By funding this project, we would have even more ways to eliminate desks and give students choice over what works best for their brain and body.
This group of first graders is incredibly enthusiastic about everything we do! They love to learn new information, try new things, and learn as much as they can. For the last two months we have been working on a slow implementation of flexible seating. I have loved watching the students try out new seating options and find what works best for them.
These students are really enjoying finding their 'smart spots' and using them to do their best work possible.
They have begun taking ownership over our classroom, and flexible seating has been a big catalyst for this change. Seeing them learn about what works best for their body and brain is amazing!
My Project
Tables like these will allow students to use our flexible seating options like yoga balls, wobble stools, and cushions. When they are in control of their seating options, they are able to choose what works best for THEIR body, which helps to focus their brain, too.
Tables like these also free up space in classrooms so that students have room to move and find the spot that works best for them.
A less cluttered classroom can lead to a less cluttered brain, resulting in better learning! Happy brains and bodies equal happy learners! First graders are completely capable of taking ownership of their learning, and this will help them learn to do so!
