My students need to have a fun and comfy learning environment. Because of our environmental factors we need to invest in items that can be wiped down and do not hold lice or bed bugs.
This is my second year teaching in a low income/high poverty school where there are limited resources and limited funds to promote extra reading and math in the classroom. I would love for all my students to have the same opportunities as other schools in our district that have a higher income level. These students come to school often times to get a positive opportunity to learn and grow and leave their personal life behind.
I want my students to come to school and find it a place of comfort, love and acceptance no matter what they have at home.
These students deserve to have the best so they can get the better each and every day at school. Our attendance rate is up this year for most of our students in my class and their excitement to learn is noted from many of their families. I am rewarded with hugs each day and growth each assessment from every student no matter how big or small.
My Project
I am hoping to rebuild my classroom flexible seating options with the ability to wipe down and disinfect daily. I want to get some wobble stools, vinyl chairs for our reading corner, and lastly some wobble cushions to help some of my special needs kids. My classroom enjoys being able to move around and find a comfy spot for different learning times.
I want my kids to know that I will provide them the most accommodating place to learn if they just get to our oasis.
These students deserve to see how larger communities enjoy flexible seating and that they are important no matter what their home life might entail.
