Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Every semester, I return to school excited to see my students. These are exciting times for these students. My class gives my students the opportunity to be creative and insightful. Middle school students are excited to learn and want to explore new things. My school is located in a rural area and having the opportunity to explore outside of the norms of the area will make a great impact on my students.

My Career Exploration courses will excite and engage my students.

The surrounding areas of my district has begun a massive growth in industrial and electronic businesses. The school district is focused on producing students with the required soft skills required for our area and beyond. We are preparing our students for college or career readiness.

My students will be working in my lab, exploring careers from construction (i.e., drywall, plumbing, electrical, etc.); workforce productivity (i.e., word processing, spreadsheets, etc.); computer science (i.e., programming, IT, etc.); and many more. I am excited to explore these professional areas with my students through hands-on activities.

My Project

Middle schoolers in an all hands-on environment. Learning and excited with the prospect of discovering who they are and what they like. Stations will be set up to their hearts' desire. I can already see the excitement.

Imagine, a classroom with stations to explore nursing, computer science, plumbing, electrical maintenance, and many more.

Imagine students being able to choose the station they want to explore.

With these chairs, my students will be able to easily get set up at each station; finish their exploration; and then take on another adventure. The world will be in their hands and you will be a part of this exciting moment in career exploration.
