My kinder-kids are excited and motivated to learn and they are important to me! We encourage each other and help each other when needed. We learn together, laugh together and grow together. I strive to provide my students with a classroom environment conducive to learning for all types of learners. We are a Title I school with many of our students that live in high poverty homes and receive free or reduced lunches. We are 85% free/reduced lunch with 45% English language learners.
We are a very culturally diverse group that love learning together in kindergarten!
I love each one of my kids and each one plays a special part of our classroom family. With that being said, I want to provide my students with a variety of seating options to help them be actively engaged and learn best.
My Project
My kindergartners need the freedom to move and wiggle while they learn! By offering my students choice in seating, they will be able to choose an alternative seat that best fits their needs. These flexible seating options will benefit children of all learning styles.
Since students achieve more when they are comfortable, what better way to do so than through flexible seating!
Some of these options I hope to give my students are lap trays, balance ball desk chairs, bean bag chairs, standing table, and yoga mats . All of these options will provide an avenue for energy release, which leads to higher student engagement and focus.
