I get to go to my DREAM job every day and work with amazing students who are kind, caring, energetic student citizens that are eager to learn. Life with these little humans are unpredictable, hilarious, wonderful and simply memorable. But these fearless crusaders come with an array of very real social-emotional challenges. My students are learning to be the boss of their anxiety, how to regulate their very big and real emotions, and how to embrace their ADHD and accept and view their differences as strengths rather than weaknesses. None of us were born knowing how to control big emotions and children need time and practice to master these skills. But, that's where I come in! As an elementary school counselor, I am there to help nurture their ability to manage their emotional responses in healthy, adaptive ways. The adjustable desk converter will help give my office some very needed mobility and flexibility as I continue to serve students in the best possible way. My Project
This project will allow me to serve my students by giving me the gift of flexibility of movement with my current office set up, promoting good health and positivity.
Did you know, a standing desk lowers lowers blood sugar, helps ward of diabetes, reduces the risk of heart disease, as well as lowers back and neck pain?
A standing desk also helps to improve mood and energy levels. Hence a standing desk = a happier, healthier school counselor.
