Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students walk into the classroom every day ready to take on the world. They are incredibly bright but don't have all the adequate resources in and out of the classroom to succeed.
My goal is to believe in them so much that they believe in themselves.
Many of the students I work with live in shelters and don't have the finances to contribute to classroom supplies. Some of my students were born here and some are from other countries. Like every classroom, some students struggle in one subject and soar in another. My goal is to help them soar in every content area to the best of my ability.
We are a Title I school that welcomes every student. We believe that every student has the ability to succeed if given the right encouragement and necessary resources.
My Project
I would love a space where students can meet in a small group comfortably to promote student choice and student discussion. This will be a place students can work on tasks, projects or independently.
This will be an environment where students can work in groups as well as independently whether it be doing mathematics or to take a quiet moment to themselves.
This rug and furniture would help promote the type of learning environment that I believe in.
For example, if I create a rich task for the students to work in groups in, that area is becoming a place that they will work together on those tasks or a group project!
