My Kindergarten students come from a wide range of life experiences. I teach in a lower/middle class neighborhood in Omaha, Nebraska. I have 16 students who range in life experiences of having preschool for 4+ years to some who have never been away from family. I have many levels of learning abilities as well.
I work at a school where we promote breakfast in the classroom for those who come to school hungry.
We have a free and reduced cost lunch program. We also participate in a backpack food program where students can receive backpacks full of food for the weekend.
My Project
I work in a district where we focus on Personalized Learning. I have created tables to be various heights so my students have a choice of sitting at a table or on the floor.
I am in need of materials to provide students the option to sit near their peers in a collaborative way yet have their own personal space.
With the Flex-Space Student Lap Desks, my students will have the opportunity to choose their spot anywhere around the room. I would also like the Flex-Space Comfy Floor Seats to use with the lap desks so the students feel comfortable.
The Balance Ball Seats will be a great addition to the higher tables in my classroom. These would help my students who are in need of more movement while sitting.
