Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students come from a low socioeconomic environment. They attend a Title I public school with limited resources. The whole school receives free breakfast and lunch. For many of my kindergartners, this is the only real meal they eat on a daily basis.
My students come from hardworking parents who strive to support their families but have difficulties providing all the school supplies necessary for their children.
My kindergartners are sweet and loving and love learning. Unfortunately, due to their home environments, school is the safest place where they can be. They have very curious minds and are passionate about learning.
My Project
Clipboards are very useful in the classroom as I allow students to use flexible seating to complete assignments. Five year old students cannot sit in hard chairs all day. I allow them to go the the rug, tile floor, small table, etc., as they write and work on center activities. It is difficult for them to write when on the rug, therefore I would love to have a class set of clipboards to assist my students as they complete their activities.
As we work on activities, clipboards and liquid glue are very needed.
Many projects need liquid glue to complete. We use bottles and bottles of glue throughout the school year.
The turn in your work station will be used for students to turn in their daily take home folder. It will make it easier for them to know where to turn in and it will take less instructional time for me to find out who turned in their folder and who did not.
