My Students

My students love school and love to learn! They are 3rd grade students in a suburb of Pittsburgh, PA. They are enthusiastic and eager to work. They are kind, respectful students who treat each other respectfully on a daily basis. All of them care for one another and always do what is right.

The class gets excited about a new challenge and are always asking for more.

I am constantly looking for new ways to engage the students in their learning. They love learning in fun, new ways!

My Project

All students are different, we know this is true! So why should the be forced to all sit at a desk the same way all day long? Flexible seating has been proven to help students focus better by allowing them to be more comfortable in the classroom. With 24 desks, the room gets very cramped. Being able to remove the desks will allow the room the be more open. Many businesses are starting to get away from desks and cubicles and more flexible work spaces, why not schools?

Plus, these yoga balls will be used for years to come and allow other students the opportunity to focus and learn! This is the first step in transitioning my classroom from a typical, desk filled room to a welcoming, relaxed environment.
