Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My first graders come to school every day eager and ready to learn! They are thoughtful, compassionate, and creative individuals! I have a very diverse group of learners with a wide range of skills and abilities. My classroom is the transitional class, which means I have a large population of ENL students.
Despite these differences, each student is passionate and determined to meet their learning goals.
My students love hands-on activities where they are able to create, explore, and discover.
My Project
In order to provide a flexible learning environment, I am hoping to provide flexible seating options for my students. In a classroom where needs and abilities are so diverse, flexible seating options allow for students to choose a place to work that is more suited for their specific needs.
All students will be able to benefit from optional seating choices.
Children need to move, and flexible seating options allow for students to move in ways that will allow them to learn the best they can. Wobble stools and cushions will be most beneficial for my students who need to manage and satisfy their extra energy. Multiple flexible seating options allows for more open communication between students.
When students are comfortable and have the freedom to choose, they are more likely to participate and have a more positive outlook on learning. My goal is to create a fun learning environment where students can move freely and comfortably around the classroom while being more engaged and motivated.
