My Students

Lisbon is a K-12 school, so I am lucky enough to work with kids from day one until graduation. My students show great enthusiasm with the many projects I introduce them to, from video production, to presentation tools, to programming. I encourage them to "explore" many different technologies that allow them to express themselves and show deeper thinking. Because I only have them until 8th grade, I love when high school students come back to show me all they've learned. Because we are a low income area, many of my students do not have access to some of the technologies and projects we introduce at school.

My Project

I am looking to "build" a new and more inviting technology lab that will allow for a more open environment to encourage collaboration and creative thinking with the variety of projects we do at LRS. Along with another grant I am applying for, getting the different flexible seating will help me create an exciting space for my students.

Students will be able to move around the room to comfortable seating, such as bean bag chairs or to the low table with cushions.

My vision is that this will encourage them to work together to program Scratch activities, robotic Spheros, write and produce movies, among many other things. This will be a new and more creative space for them.
