My Students

There is no "typical" day in Mrs. R.'s Science class. You never know if you will be going on a nature walk to observe living and nonliving things in an ecosystem, entering a star lab or making your inventions come to life. Learning is an adventure.

My students come to me with limited backgrounds and experiences.

We are a rural school in a high poverty area. Therefore, it is important to me as a teacher to provide my students with many memorable and lasting learning experiences. My students are excited to learn, and they thrive in my classroom when I can create hands-on learning opportunities for them. Through the funding of this project, you will help make this possible for my students.

My Project

In our classroom, we use flexible seating to help students who have a hard time focusing find a comfortable place to learn. We would like to purchase a collaborative floor space seating set for our classroom. This set has four-floor chairs and a roundtable.

This floor seating area will provide my students with an alternative to the desk and chair sheeting they are accustomed too, therefore, making learning a new and exciting experience.

We want students to feel comfortable in our classroom so they will open their minds to the exciting world of learning. This seating area will also allow my students to collaborate with their peers throughout their learning process.
