My Students

I teach in a small school in a small rural farming community. I teach science to the fifth and sixth grade students. I have approximately 80 students. Many of my students do not get the opportunity to see what the world has to offer outside of our small town.

Incorporating STEM activities into my curriculum has encouraged curiosity and discovery.

Our discoveries have led them to wonder about careers that they don't see around them. Our activities have shown them how to open their minds and imagine the things they could do.

I want to encourage my students to always be curious and excited about the world around them. Allowing my students to create and discover has changed their mindset and inspired them to take chances and create new things.

I want to equip my classroom to create an environment that inspires my students to discover new things. My goal is to provide an environment and opportunities for my students to want to learn.

My Project

I would like to have a different sitting option for my students to read or work. I think this couch is the right fit for our classroom. We can easily keep this couch clean and sanitary due to the materials used to construct it. We work hard in our classroom and I would like a couple of areas that remind the students that our classroom is also a place to relax and be comfortable.

Inviting spaces allow students to feel comfortable in the classroom.

I hope to get this Flex Space couch to create a cozy, homey space for my students to read, work, or take a break when needed.
