My Students

"I love 4K," said several students said last year. The students in my class are encouraged to love school and to love learning. Hopefully, they will carry the love of learning on for the rest of their lives. This is their first school experience, and it is critical that they are successful, have a wide variety of experiences and feel safe.

This school district is in a high poverty and very rural area.

The school works very hard to make sure each student succeeds and will have the opportunity to attend college. Students build relationships with teachers, the community and other agencies as well as collaborate with other grades to build a sense of community.

My Project

My students would be very comfortable using this bench for reading. We have weekly book buddies and this seat would accommodate the older students as well. This bench would also provide some much needed storage for books and other literacy materials. The calming color of the cushion will blend in with the other calming colors in my classroom to great a cozy atmosphere. Being read to in preschool promotes future reading and reading comprehension skill. It also provides language and vocabulary growth. In my classroom students are read to every day. This would be a wonderful addition to our room.
