My amazing students live in a rural area. My classroom is an inclusion class. This means that I teach students with disabilities along with their typically developing peers.
I learn as much from my students as they learn from me.
My students have great attitudes. They are eager to learn. I want to fill their space with the tools that help them to have the same opportunities as children in more prominent areas. My students deserve every advantage. They are amazing.
My Project
Flexible seating is a research-based way to create the most optimal learning environment for your students. Gone are the days where young students are required to sit at desks with hard chairs for several hours. We must meet their needs before we can teach them.
Each learner is unique; one size does not fit all when it comes to learning styles.
Many students require movement throughout the day. This is why I need these four stability balls. My students can gently bounce and move slightly while I teach. This will allow them to focus on my lesson, not their discomfort. The couch will be used while my first graders are reading independently. They can get cozy with a book or collaborate with a peer about their favorite story. These options will make my classroom feel more like home. They will want to be at school; which is my ultimate goal. Thank you so much for considering my project.
