My students are a wonderfully diverse group of kids in a close-knit, supportive school community. They all have varying academic, behavioral, and personal needs; some need more challenging learning, some need more scaffolded learning, and some also have special needs that require more intensive interventions. Our school population has grown every year I've taught here and there has been a growing waiting list every year. The staff and faculty are amazing and collaborative, the parents are pro-active and care about all the children, and the children are a sweet, caring group of kids.
My Project
Having two more lap desks will provide more choices for students to sit in collaborative groups with flexible seating. They are able to work on communication skills and choose whether to sit on a chair or use lap desks on the rug!
Growing readers need high-level books to provide a challenging learning experience.
Storing books is always a challenge in a classroom; the library cart will assist in the storage of books so that students who need to access them can.
