Help me give my students a flexible seating environment, enhanced with lots of STEM activities and manipulatives, to flex not only their bodies, but their minds.
We live in a rural community in Northwest Oklahoma, where class sizes are small, allowing teachers greater opportunities to increase student learning. We are also blessed by a community that supports our schools. I teach Kindergarten, where the bar has been raised, but where developmental readiness still rings true. I hope to give my early childhood students the chance to have multiple flexible seating options and an array of innovative technology to enhance their learning and make our classroom a fun and effective place to learn.
My Project
This project will complete the flexible seating options in my kindergarten classroom. It will also include a variety of STEM activities and manipulatives that will offer my students a hands on approach to learning. I selected several manipulatives that will help develop their fine motor skills and aid in the development of their handwriting, drawing, and shoe tying abilities. I am excited to be able to offer my young learners an environment where they are able to learn and develop through play. They will not be restricted by a traditional seating arrangement, as they will have a variety of flexible seating options available to them!
