I teach third grade in a self contained classroom. My students come to school energetic and ready to learn every day! They enjoy movement and hands-on activities. My school is a title 1 school with students of various backgrounds and low socio economic status. My students are curious, active and creative learners. I would like the opportunity to offer them flexible seating options that will make them more comfortable while they are learning! A comfortable learning environment will lead to more student engagement, which means more success!
My Project
My students come to school full of life and ready to learn! Just like adults get tired of sitting in hard chairs all day, students do too! They need more flexible/comfortable seating options to enhance student engagement and learning. Studies show that students learn better when they are physically active and comfortable. ! The Wobble stools, balance ball seats, and soft seats will provide flexible seating giving my students a choice in their learning environment. Having a choice is extremely empowering. My goal is to set each child in my classroom up for success! I can do this by giving them the love, support, and the environment they need. Children need to keep their bodies busy so they can keep their brains busy! I am excited to be able to provide my students with materials that will add to their learning!
