Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I work with a very vibrant group of second grade students in a special education inclusion classroom. My kiddos come from a wide variety of backgrounds and abilities. I would like to incorporate flexible seating in my classroom to assist my students in their many learning styles.

My students love to be moving, especially while they are learning.

It is my wish to create a classroom environment, through flexible seating, that promotes optimal physical health, community, and productivity. Please help!

My Project

There is a ton of research around about the benefits of flexible seating in classrooms. From promoting physical health and well being, to fostering a sense of community in the classroom, as well as keeping students active and productive. Additionally, flex seating makes students more comfortable and comfortable students are hard working students. I believe these flexible seating options will greatly impact my student's behavior and academics.

I plan to use the wobble stools at student desks and the children will utilize the floor seats to work around the room.

All of the seating options funded through this grant will be great addition to my classroom.
