My students need headphones so that they can use two desktops and 3 IPads without hearing students in other centers. They need the printer so that I can share the results of their progress with parents.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are the best. They are creative, smart, kind, and adventurous 4 and 5 year olds. I teach in a Title I school, but that doesn’t stop them at all.
They love learning!
They challenge themselves with technology and love learning to read with starfall.com and the starfall app along with the teach me kindergarten app. They can track their growth on a program called IStation. It shows where they are in Prink Knowledge, Phonemic Awareness, Vocabulary, and Letter Identification. The program also creates reports that can be printed out and sent home. The reports show growth and give suggestions for improvement.
My Project
The students love technology! It allows them to learn at their own pace, exposes them to art and music, and it identifies their learning needs. It allows them to create pictures and stories that they can print out and read.
To get the most out of technology, it needs to work.
None of our headphones are working correctly at this time. What’s really needed is some noise canceling headphones that would allow students to hear better.
We also need our broken printer replaced. I would be able to print out reports that could show the students’ progress. This really lets parents see what to work on at home with their child.
