We are located in an extremely overcrowded elementary school in New York. We work very hard and appreciate learning through laughter, fun, and play. It is a long school day when all we do is sit in our seats and work.
You often hear an explosion of laughter coming from my classroom.
A second grade is an awesome place for any child to be. I am a second-grade teacher for a very eager and excitable group of children. I am truly a lucky teacher.
My Project
One thing that could break anyones heart is the look on a child's face when you ask for notebooks. Many of my students simply can not afford them. But the perfect notebook could make school a place of learning, not embarrassment when you don't have the notebook everyone else has to work in. Another benefit would be organization. If you have ever seen a second grader's desk you would gasp with horror. It is generally a complete mess due to too many notebooks. Imagine a neat, orderly desk with only one five subject notebook, not five individual notebooks. A desk is very limited on space. Between text books, notebooks and work books there is hardly room to slide a piece of paper in the desk. To alleviate this problem we could sure use five subject notebooks. Now instead of the mad rush looking for the correct notebook for a subject, children can simply take out the one notebook and go to the right section. I envision orderly desks and calm happy children.
